We're using two wonderful local venues, with character and style, to promote friendly, seated, listening style gigs.

Brackenfield Village Hall - DE55 6AR

Small, but beautifully formed! A gorgeous stone building in a quiet village, we don't have a bar, but soft drinks will be available for purchase, and you're very welcome to bring your own alcohol. The venue is accessible, with parking along the roadside.

Palterton Village Hall - S44 6UN

A larger venue, but no less wonderful! Recently refurbished, with a bar, car parking, and, again, fully accessible.

SATURDAY 6th FEBRUARY - BRACKENFIELD

Based in Glossop, Derbyshire, Lee is a singer-songwriter and self-confessed dreamer whose melodies are born in ordinary days and carried somewhere luminous. His songs hold reflective themes of family, distance, home, and escape, with arrangements that leave space for story, silence, and feeling.

Live, Lee's gigs are a beautiful experience, for this evening he will be joined by long time collaborator India Shan on violin, the two of them shaping beautiful songs threaded with wistful, harmonious melodies.

SATURDAY 17th APRIL - BRACKENFIELD

Sheffield-based Sam Carter is a BBC Folk Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist. His vivid contemporary songwriting draws on the traditions of English and American folksong, with distinctively English acoustic fingerstyle guitar playing at the heart of his sound.

Sam has released six albums under his own name and two with BBC Folk Award-nominated folk-rock band False Lights. 

Sam Carter’s live performances are nothing short of captivating, filled with the raw honesty, humour, and skilled musicianship that underscore his standing as one of contemporary folk’s brightest talents.
